Céline is a Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at Liverpool John Moores University. She is a Critical Geographer specialized in development and sustainability processes, with an interdisciplinary background in international relations and development studies. Her research interests include the human geography of the marine environment and marine policy, blue economy, (sustainable) development, international environmental politics and climate change, and Indigenous peoples. Her current work aims at unravelling the interplay between the sea and sense of place, and deconstructing the traditional narratives and resulting power structures surrounding the sea. Her research appeared in Environment, Development and Sustainability; Marine Policy; Third World Quarterly; Sustainable Development; International Journal on Minority and Group Rights. She is the author of a book on Development, the World Bank and Indigenous Peoples (Karthala Press, France).
