Anne-Sophie Bentz received her Masters from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques, Strasbourg, and completed her PhD at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva (2009). She taught International Relations at the University of Toulouse (2009-2011) before taking a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Zurich’s URPP “Asia and Europe” programme. Her thesis, entitled ‘Nationalism in Exile: Tibetan Refugees in India’ (in French, published in 2010 by the Presses Universitaires de France), focuses on the relations between nationalism and exile by means of a case study on Tibetan refugees in India. Her new research project concerns India’s refugee policies and compares the situation of Afghan, Burmese, Sri Lankan and Tibetan refugees. Her research interests include: Nationalism Theories, International Migration, Refugee and Diaspora Politics, Contemporary International Relations in Asia.
