Pierre du Bois Chair Public Lectures Organized at the Graduate Institute

Michael Goebel will pursue the aims of the Pierre du Bois Chair by also organizing a series of public lectures that address Europe’s role in the nineteenth- and twentieth-century world, for example through colonialism and migration, as well as the question of how that global role conversely impacted European history itself.

The first Pierre du Bois Chair Public Lecture will be given by Elizabeth Buettner, Professor of Modern History at the University of Amsterdam, on the topic of Colonialism: A Shared EUropean History and Legacyon April 7, 2020, at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, 18h30-20h00.
