Sabina Donati (Rome 1972) is a Research Associate of the Pierre du Bois Foundation for Current History, Switzerland. Her book A Political History of National Citizenship and Identity in Italy, 1861-1950 <\/i>(Stanford University Press) was a finalist in the 2014 Frances Richardson Keller-Sierra Prize, sponsored by the Western Association of Women Historians.<\/p>\n
She graduated with a Bachelor Degree in European Studies (French and Politics) (First Class Honours) from the University of London Queen Mary and Westfield College, UK, and then completed a Master and a Doctorate in International Relations (International History and Politics) from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (IUHEI) and the Universit\u00e9 de Gen\u00e8ve, Switzerland.<\/p>\n
She has taught the module \u201cNineteenth-Century Europe and the World\u201d in the Department of History and Humanities of John Cabot University in Rome; previously taught several courses in Modern European History and Research Methodologies at Webster University Geneva, and worked as a Research Assistant and a Teaching Assistant in the International History and Politics Department of IUHEI.<\/p>\n
Her research interests focus on: European history; Italian history; Citizenship, nationality and identity issues; Migration, asylum and statelessness; Colonialism and expansionism. She is a past recipient of a Jeunes Chercheurs grant from the Fonds National Suisse de la Recherche Scientifique. She is currently preparing an article on \u201cThe Roman Question, 1870-1929\u201d and working on the Italian edition of her Stanford book.<\/p>\n
