It sheds light on five aspects of the European question by different authors: origins of the European idea (Bruno Arcidiacono, Jean-François Bergier, Lubor Jilek, Alfonso Mattera), Europe and its builders (André Rezler, Benedikt Shoenborn, Georges-Henri Soutou), the European Union and its institutions (Marie-Thérèse Bitsch, Victor-Yves Chebali, Gilles Grin), the European Union and the world (Franz Blankart, Mohammad-Reza Djalili and Thierry Kellner, Jussi Hanhimäki), and finally the enlargement of the European Union (Adrian Ivan, André Liebich). The book opens with a biobibliographical essay on Pierre du Bois (Basil Germond and François Jequier). This rich and diverse collection highlights a multidisciplinary examination of the European question, where history, political science, economy, law and philosophy cannot be separated.
