Joris Larik obtained a B.A. in International Relations from the School of International Studies at the University of Dresden in 2006, an LL.M. in Public International Law from Leiden University in 2007 and an M.A. in EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges in 2008. Currently he is a Ph.D. candidate in law at the European University Institute in Florence, as well as visiting lecturer at the School of International Studies at the University of Dresden.

His research interests centre on the law of external relations of the European Union, international law (especially WTO law and international criminal law), as well as security and defence policy.
